Timothy Garton Ash thinks “NATO is dead”

I’m trying to hold off for a few days on posting more about the Russia-Ukraine War and the uncertain prospects for ending or pausing it. But I’m posting this interview with British historian Timothy Garton Ash of Chatham House, who gives his current take on what looks at the moment very much like an important turning point in US-European relations.¹ This is one of those moments where a large part of the public can legitimately have the feeling that Big Changes Are Happening. It’s a lot for everybody to digest.
