This week, people following the spreading Middle East war are finding ourselves checking the headlines daily to see if Bibi Netanyahu has finally succeeded in getting the US to go to war directly with Iran.
I hope: none! But they will almost certainly strike some Israeli target, like some Israeli consulate or embassy. It also depends on what the US is saying behind the scenes. It's possible that Iran would decide their best move would be to retailiate with some cyber-attack. But the IDF also is probably less able to respond after six months of war they weren't really prepared for. So that might make now look like an advantageous time for an Iranian strike. (In an alternative universe, Joe Biden is probably telling Iran he'll immediately re-enter the nuclear deal Trump cancelled if they hold back against Israel. But in this dimension, it's hard to imagine.)
What sort of retalitory options do you think Iran is considering?
